Your New Company:
A forward thinking Main Contractor delivering projects up to the value of £20m across both the buildings and heavy civils sectors. This multi-disciplined contractor can demonstrate both longevity in the industry as well as a track record of internal promotion through the business.

Your New Role:
The business has a requirement for an individual to take control of the HSEQ and actively manage this going forward. Starting with the basics keeping the sites right with their paperwork and then working up to a senior management role within the business for the right candidate over the years. The ideal candidate will come from a civil engineering background or be a degree qualified site manager to work on the following project-spread:

Civil engineering – infrastructure, earthworks, reinforced concrete
New build
Structural steel erection

Although the role is primarily office based in Ayr, travel to sites throughout the country will be required sporadically.

• Complete annual review of H&S policy documents
• Continue with implementation of our H&S system and provide training to new staff as required
• Carry out all audits as required – sites, factory, workshops, offices and maintain reports
• Report issues at review meetings and relevant KPI’s
• Maintain RIDDOR statistics for reporting
• Carry out accident/near miss investigations as required, conclude and implement changes to prevent future reoccurrence
• Keep the company up to date with all changes in H&S legislation and communicate/alter processes as required
• Review current occupational health requirements – ie HAVS etc and improve systems
• Main point of contact for H&S advice across the company (internal and external – subcontractors etc)
• Review training and training matrix. Highlight requirements
• Maintain COSHH Register
• Review and develop Construction Phase Plans, also training and assist members of staff in preparation
• Control LOLER inspections for all lifting gear, plant and harnesses.
• Manage Risk Registers on jobs, ensure completed and implemented as required
• Manage/ create fire plans for premises/sites as required. Audit to ensure testing occurring
• Create and review Risk Registers
